Work Experience

Senior Engineering Manager — Finance Product & Services, Target (Aug 2025 – Present)

At Target, I currently lead engineering for enterprise B2B digital commerce and real-time bank authorization platforms that support high-volume, business-critical transactions. My work centers on building secure, resilient, and scalable systems that power corporate gift card ordering, account management, and Target Debit Card decisioning across digital and in-store experiences.

In this role, I partner closely with product, architecture, security, risk, and business stakeholders to shape technical strategy and deliver roadmap priorities. I also focus on system reliability, observability, fraud prevention, and engineering excellence while mentoring teams that build fault-tolerant, cloud-native platforms designed for performance at scale.

Senior Engineering Manager —Data Engineering, Target (Dec 2023 – Jul 2025)

I led two high-performing engineering teams within Target’s Data Platform organization, delivering capabilities that improved platform reliability, usability, and operational efficiency at enterprise scale. My work included driving major modernization efforts, strengthening self-service workflows, improving observability, and leading strategic platform initiatives such as Spark 3 migration, asset lifecycle management, and service migration to Target Application Platform.
Beyond technical delivery, I focused heavily on team development, agile execution, and cross-functional alignment across data engineering, data science, security, and infrastructure. I also served as Peak Captain, helping coordinate readiness and platform stability during Target’s highest-traffic retail periods, while advancing security posture and enabling better customer and partner experiences across the big data ecosystem.

Senior Engineering Manager — Production Engineering, Target (Jun 2020 – Dec 2023)

Nov 2022 – Dec 2023

In this role, I led engineering teams responsible for building service management and operational tooling that improved production support and incident response across Target Technology. My teams developed systems for incident management, production change visibility, and engineering coordination, integrating with platforms such as Slack, Zoom, GitHub, Kafka, and ServiceNow to create better workflows for operational excellence.

I also partnered across product, engineering, and program teams to execute roadmap priorities under tight timelines while supporting global collaboration with Target India. This role strengthened my focus on production resilience, service lifecycle management, and building tools that help organizations respond faster and operate more effectively in complex technical environments.

Jun 2020 – Dec 2022

I led the development of developer experience and operational visibility platforms designed to help Target engineering teams better understand service relationships, reliability health, and system performance. My work included platforms that surfaced real-time status, service-level objectives, and engineering asset relationships, making it easier for teams to prioritize reliability and manage services more effectively. This role combined hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, coaching, and delivery oversight. I guided teams through software development, process improvements, and modern engineering practices while helping create data-driven tools that improved visibility across Target’s technology ecosystem

Engineering Manager — Best Buy (Feb 2018 – Jun 2020)

Best Buy | Feb 2018 – Jun 2020

At Best Buy, I built and led the engineering organization for the Product Data Management platform, which served as the central entry point for vendor-provided product information such as dimensions, images, documents, and enriched content. I was responsible for building the team, shaping the engineering culture, defining delivery practices, and partnering across the business to modernize product data capabilities at scale.

My work focused on platform architecture, API development, supplier integration, and continuous delivery improvements that increased reliability and deployment speed. I also invested deeply in coaching engineers, strengthening agile practices, and introducing high-quality engineering disciplines that improved consistency, accountability, and technical maturity across the organization.

Digital Engineer II

Best Buy | Dec 2017 – Feb 2018

As a Digital Engineer II at Best Buy, I contributed to the development of Magellan, an internal RESTful API platform for product details and related data. I worked in a collaborative engineering environment focused on backend services, DevOps practices, and production monitoring to support reliable access to product information across internal systems.

This role gave me the opportunity to strengthen my expertise in service development, operational ownership, and modern software delivery practices. It also deepened my experience working in self-organized teams that emphasized engineering discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Technical Lead — Wells Fargo (Aug 2016 – Dec 2017)

At Wells Fargo, I led multiple major initiatives during a large-scale migration from GE to Wells Fargo, ensuring timely delivery across complex enterprise systems. I managed software development activities end to end while also remaining hands-on in implementation, mentoring, release execution, and production support.

My work included building secure user account management capabilities with mutual authentication workflows, coordinating releases, and supporting business-critical systems in a highly regulated environment. This experience strengthened my ability to lead delivery in large enterprises where reliability, security, and execution discipline are essential.

Technical Lead — Comcast (Oct 2015 – Aug 2016)

At Comcast, I worked as a technical lead in an Agile environment, contributing to API development, batch solutions, and enterprise integrations that supported technician operations and equipment health monitoring. I also helped define designs, facilitate Scrum practices, and establish CI workflows that improved development consistency and delivery speed.

This role expanded my experience across backend engineering, integration design, and team coordination. I worked across multiple technologies and business needs, balancing technical problem-solving with process improvement and day-to-day leadership responsibilities.

Technical Lead — Virtusa / Truven Health Analytics (Oct 2013 – Sep 2015)

In this role, I led onsite-offshore teams and contributed to healthcare data transformation solutions, including systems that converted HL7 messages into JSON and supported bulk message processing. I was responsible for technical design, delivery coordination, and improving team productivity while serving in both technical leadership and Scrum leadership capacities.

The work required strong execution across enterprise integration, automation, and software lifecycle management. It also strengthened my ability to lead distributed teams and deliver reliable solutions in domains where data quality, interoperability, and system performance are especially important.

Technical Lead — HCL Technologies / Cisco (Sep 2008 – Oct 2013)

At HCL supporting Cisco, I worked on enterprise application development and technical design for device operations and administrative workflows. My responsibilities included requirement analysis, high-level design, implementation of web-based functionality, and build and dependency configuration across a large technical environment.

This role helped establish my foundation in full-stack enterprise development and systems thinking. Over time, I took on broader ownership across architecture, delivery, and technical problem-solving, building the leadership skills that shaped the next stages of my career.

Software Developer — Indorion Networks (Jul 2006 – May 2008)

I began my career at Indorion Networks, where I was involved in the full software development lifecycle and built my foundation in enterprise application development. I worked across implementation, development support, and delivery activities, gaining hands-on experience with core engineering practices and software design.

This early role was important in shaping my technical fundamentals and work ethic. It gave me a strong base in software engineering that I continued to build on through increasingly complex technical and leadership roles.
